This is my all time favourite and healthy recipe. While in weekends or any holidays I usually prepare sundal for tea time snacks. So in the morning itself as soon as I wake up I just soak white chana in water, Since it has to be soaked for 8 hours then only we can prepare masala sundal for tea time. Ok now we move on to the Preparation.
Kabuli Chana is a good source of protein. Combined with a whole grain such as whole-wheat protein, they provide amount of protein comparable to that of meat or dairy foods without the high calories or saturated fats.
Ingredients:
- White / Kabuli Chana - 2 cups
- Onion - 1 medium size
- curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Grated Coconut - 4 tbsp
- Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tsp
- Green Chilli - 1
- oil - 2 tbsp
- Corainder Leaves for Garnishing
- Coriander powder - 2tsp
- Red Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Fennel Powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Salt as per taste
Method:
Soak the Channa for atleast 8 hours. Cook in a pressure pan with salt for about 8 whistles.
Now add the cooked channa along with it and saute for few minutes. let the water in it get dried. After all the water is completely dried, add the masala powders one by one. saute for a minute. now the masala is well coated with the channa. Finally add the grated coconut and garnish with coriander leaves.
Now a tasty and healthy tea time masala sundal is ready.
